Use this page when you subscribe as a supplier. You can select up to
5 component groups per safety authority.
Workshops do not choose these groups — they filter by vehicle make instead.
How matching works
Suppliers are alerted for all makes when a recall’s component group matches a group you selected for that authority.
You receive an email only for newly published recalls (publication date within the last 30 days) that match your subscription.
Older recalls stay in your dashboard without a new email.
Every authority uses the same English group names, so one vocabulary covers NHTSA, KBA, TC, DVSA, and SAMR.
Coverage by authority
This is from which vehicles we keep recall history in Automotive Recall Alert
(history starts at model / build year 2020 where noted).
Authority
What’s in the archive
How the group is set
NHTSA (USA)
Model years 2020 through the current year (plus the next model year where applicable). One row per campaign.
Uses the official NHTSA component name from the campaign (top-level group shown at signup).
KBA (Germany)
Full available KBA archive — not limited to 2020 model years. German defect wording stays in the summary; the component group is English.
German defect / deficiency text is mapped onto the same English groups suppliers already select for NHTSA.
TC (Canada)
Model years 2020 through the current year.
Starts from Transport Canada’s system type, then may refine the group from the English defect text when that is more precise.
DVSA (UK)
Included when the vehicle build range reaches 2020; if build years are missing, when the recall launch year is 2020 or later.
Concern and defect text are mapped onto the same English groups. Unclear cases can be assigned by our team so later matching stays consistent.
SAMR (China) – Beta
Announcements from samr.gov.cn. Stored when the production range reaches 2020, otherwise when the publication year is 2020 or later. Opt-in beta — does not count toward the three-authority signup limit.
Chinese defect text is mapped onto the same English groups. Problem, risk, and remedy stay in Chinese (machine translation helper in the dashboard and alert mail). Unclear cases can be assigned under Admin → China-Komponenten.
Useful distinctions
Certificates of Conformity, VIN labels, type plates, and similar paperwork are Equipment — even when the text mentions where the label is fitted (for example a B-pillar).
Tyre size or load index wrong only on a CoC or plate is Equipment, not Tires.
A horn or handlebar / light switch harness fault is Electrical System, even if headlights are also mentioned.
Auto-reversing / anti-pinch power windows are Visibility, not Exterior Lighting.
Group catalogue
Typical parts and topics in each signup option. A recall is assigned to one primary group.
Air Bags
Driver, passenger, side, curtain, and knee airbags
Inflators and gas generators (including Takata)
Crash / occupancy sensors used for airbag deployment
Supplemental restraint control modules
Back Over Prevention
Rear-view / reversing cameras
Cross-traffic or rear obstacle alerts while reversing
Systems that warn or brake when backing up
Child Seat
Child seats and child restraints
ISOFIX / i-Size anchorage issues tied to child seats
Communication
Emergency call (eCall) modules
Telematics / connected-vehicle communication units
Communication modules that contact emergency services
Electrical System
12V / 24V batteries, alternators, fuses, and ground faults
Wiring harnesses and electrical connectors
Instrument clusters, control units, and software misconfiguration
Horns and handlebar / combination switches (even if lights are also affected)
Electronic Stability Control
ESC / ESP stability programs
Yaw or stability control that keeps the vehicle on path
